We cannot stop aging but we can slow down the rate of aging. Dr Koh Lam Son will expound on this topic. The cause of accelerated aging is multi-factorial but mainly it is affected by our diet, water, air, the lack of exercice, stress, the decline in hormones, chronic inflammation, the increase in internal and external free radicals and fall in antioxidant defense. A high calorie diet is pro-aging whereas a low calorie diet is anti-aging and prolongs life. Lack of natural nutrients in an unbalanced diet is a major cause of unhealthy aging in our modern life and the use of quality grade supplements can influence our health and how we age.

About Dr. Koh Lam Son

Dr. Koh graduated from the University of Bristol UK in 1972. He worked at the Hammersmith Hospital and St Thomas Hospital in London before he returned to Singapore in 1979 with a double postgraduate degree in obstetrics and gynaecology and general surgery. After a short stint in the government hospital, he took over an established private O & G practice in 1981, following the migration of the incumbent.In 1984, he took up the challenge of parliamentary life and became a Member of Parliament from 1984-1991.

Not unexpectedly, the active and hectic life as an O & G specialist and a politician affected his health. Dr Koh sought remedies in anti-aging medicine and alternative medicine and found them to be very effective for him. In 2006, he retired from active O & G practice and started a clinic on age management and regenerative medicine. He co-chairs the 2008 First Asian Conference on the Science of Aging and Regenerative Medicine with Dr Robert Goldman, the co-founder of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. Dr. Koh has emerged from retirement to begin a new chapter of his life in a new medical specialty because he believes it will revolutionize the fundamental thinking and approach to medicine.
